This game was a good time. A solid 10 + hours to mess around and find everything. It’s time well spent with friends
The graphics engine was adequate for this game. It was nothing too fancy which would be expected. The camera can zoom in pretty close to the characters, but the view becomes terrible. So I played most of the game at an eagle’s eye view. The spell effects were fitting, nothing over the top. I’ve always liked when equipped items changed the look of the character. While the armor options are pretty limited, it was a nice tough to see the characters fitted in the different types. The CGI scenes weren’t of the highest quality but they were the most graphical part of the whole game. There was some good effects that I didn’t expect to see in this title.
Voices were all the typical sounds, gruff barbarian types, stout dwarfs, ferocious Amazon lady voices. Once again the music really didn’t stand out to me. Most of the sound effects were fitting and a few were even satisfying. Chipping away and a skeleton and hearing the little thuds of steal against bone were pretty nice.
Gameplay was pretty action packed and the leveling system seemed well balanced. My friend and I found out pretty early how delicate the whole system is. If you level up the wrong things, or you don’t buy the latest equipment, then the game gets pretty hard. Near the end though was when the game became way too easy. There was some much gold amassed with nothing to spend it on besides the health potions and the life charms. Plus the fact that the Death gem can be equipped to the main weapon and constantly replenish the character’s life. The characters turned into demi-gods before the last battle.
