Solid 40-60 hours of old school hack-n-slash that requires patience.

User Rating: 7.5 | Dungeon Lords MMXII PC
RPG gamer here. We all know that when this game was first released in 2005 it was a buggy mess and then the developers tried to screw the consumers with releasing the so-called patched "collectors edition". In terms of re-releasing this game it's not much the best in terms of graphics and sound but all bugs are removed and the gameplay is solid-in true hack-n-slash form. (This is my third playthrough btw since initial release). Well anyway it's 2012 and the developer Heuristic Park has a new publisher in Nordic which is hoping to support a next-gen game in the series in the near-future-(hence the re-release of an older game). In short, if you want to delve into a decent hack-n-slash only available on the pc, and want a game that is somewhat similar to the dark soul series in terms of gameplay-(different but has common traits)-you might be in for a surprise here-I think DS was slightly inspired and took the self-flashlight aspect from DL and some other small characteristics from the game-, but anyway-bottom line You'll spend at least 40-50 hours playing and will probably need to view some kind of walkthrough/guide to help you on your way a couple of times in your journey as many gamers did with the Dark Souls franchise. 7.5/10.
