No game has proven to be a more bloated mess than Duke Nukem Forever until it came out (and Anthem). Duke Nukem Forever sucks so much! But at least it doesn't blow...Unlike these babes am I right?! Duke Nukem has been sucked of charm by dull boring gaming industry running on 7th gen fumes and development hell. It had many other reneditions that looked better already but no the hell to that.
STORY: After years of Earthling peace. Duke is at home with his honeys until the Aliens make return. Now he must kick ass and chew bubble gum. DNF has a hilarious sense of humor if you are 5 and enjoy the Michael Bay Transformers movies.
GAMEPLAY:Duke Nukem is everything wrong with gaming in the year 2011. The gameplay is nothing more than a Halo clone. It's a first person narrative but it isn't much really. You walk down boring hallways that are linear and stupid, fight stupid enemies that are the same as last game but you guessed it with 3D graphics. Hide behind cover, regenerate health and more. There is variety. Some platforming. Some driving. Some casual sports. But overall Duke Nukem Forever is a jack of all trades and a master of none. DNF however is highly interactive and clever in it's execution. Why you can play with a human turd like a mental patient. Throw it all around. Draw dicks on a board as your Lieutenant is amazed at your genius plan. This fades away though as you are dragged into DNF's shallow outdated atmosphere from the early 2000's which would be an insult to the early 2000's.
What it should have been dated back to was 1996 when this game is absolutely timeless and fun . When you where 14 and your dad was nice enough to buy you Duke Nukem 3D even though it was a rated M game. The exploration, atmosphere, varied guns, puzzles are not to be found in Duke Nukem Forever.
It's multiplayer is bad to even though I never played it and never will.
GRAPHICS: Duke Nukem has graphics alright. From the year 2005. This game is so low resolution in it's environments that textures just pop in as soon as you enter a room. The only thing I like about it was the color. Or the fact that things tend to have a curve in their geometry (not blocky). Something severely lacking in 7th gen games. There might even be glitches. I feel like Duke Nukem 4 was rushed and I just feel I will fall through the floor at anytime.
SOUND: I think this is the only soul that DNF has is that it's just full of adult off color jokes. Tons of sexism and cheesy lines. The OST ain't half bad either. If I was blind I would have assumed this was Duke Nukem 3D expansion packs.
OVERALL: Don't buy Duke Nukem Forever because it sucks but at least it isn't Clive Barker's Jericho.
