Great game, but bad publicity.

Seriously, twenty-four hours before now, I had no idea that this game was out. I was browsing gamespot, and an advert caught my eye. I had heard about the game, but had no idea when it was coming out.

Anyway, I went out straight away this morning to buy it, and I was not disappointed.

I was expecting some wishy-washy GTA wanna-be, like both DRIV3R and (not as much) Driver Parellel Lines, but I was pleasently surpriesed, as the game is much more like Driver should be. It's not perfect, but it is a great improvement.

The level is big, the vehicle range is big, the graphics are detailed, and it has gameplay like you would expect from some of the older and better Driver games.

There are glitches however, and other things which spoil it ever-so-slightly:

>Loading times while moving between areas. This is the first Driver game that I know of that has done this, and it really breaks down the flow of the game.

>Pauses while getting in and out of vehicles. This is really annoying, especially when you have to wait a good ten seconds.

>The level is exactly the same as Driver Parallel Lines. I look forward to a new city whenever I get a new Driver game. I suppose it's Ubisofts try-out level, to see if they can do better than older games.

>Lack of "random events". This was a great addition to Driver Parallel Lines, and so far, I haven't noticed any. There may be some, I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm nitpicking really. It is a great game, and is excellent being able to explore a Driver-city while on the move. The car handling is just as good as Driver has always been, with a relevent story-line, and great soundtracks and mkini-games.

My only hope is that when it comes out on Next-Gen (or Current-Gen as it is now), Driver will be as classic and well made, with multi-player, and a brand-new city.

Well done Driver!
