Drill Dozer is a fun, and rather addictive side-scroller that's sure to entertain you for hours.

The era of the Gameboy Advance was a happy one. The GBA had its share of good games and bad games. Drill Dozer, however, is not one of those games.

In Drill Dozer you control a little girl named Jill whose the daughter of a big-name thief. When her Pa in injured and put out of commission, it's up to Jill to get back a precious object stolen from them and ultimately stop a Skull Kid wannabe with an addiction for masks from taking over the world. Along the way you'll meet a few other faces, gain new abilities, and battle various bosses and enemies all from the comfort of a portable drill machine called a Drill Dozer!

Gameplay: Like I said earlier, this game is a side-scroller like the Mario series. This system works well for this game, especially when the Drill Dozer controls are considered. The game is very simple and bosses are never very hard to beat, but the treasure you can collect from each stage, and the new map areas you can buy after the game's story make the game very addictive, especially if you want to beat the whole game. Controls are simple and easy to learn.

Graphics: For a GBA game, the graphics in here are very well defined, especially the sprites used for the various treasure. Animations are smoothe and defined as well.

Story: As addicting as the game is, its story is very short. At most, you only get to explore six areas with two to three mini-areas each (including secret areas you buy later on). You could probably play through the whole story in an hour and a half at most. More areas or a longer story would've been a nice touch.

Drill Dozer is a very good game and it can leave people who like completeing a game inside and out entertained for a while. However, once you buy all the maps and upgrades and collect all the treasures, replay value drops to zero. There's little to no extra features aside from the treasure you can collect. Its short story mode also helps to lower its replayability.
