Initial D goes MMO

User Rating: 8 | Drift City PC
First a little about this game:
-Its free 2 play
-you can buy better items for real $$$
-it has cell shading graphics
-its arcade
-its fun
-its time-eater
-RPG style level-up

Gameplay:
The basics are very simple, you race and you drift with shift-key when needed, but to master that or harder tracks is hard. Its arcade style racing and IMO very fun.
Main point of the game is Missions where you follow the story line and later on choose a "side". Most time is spend in Battle Zone where you race with other players.

Graphics:
Its cell shading, personally I love it, but may not appeal to everyone.

Sound:
Soundtrack gets boring. Each car has different sound, but I kinda miss the "punch" from normal racing games.

THE BAD:
-Real $$$ for certain items.
-No indication or blocking players with huge lag.
-The RPG element seems great, but when you get higher up in battle zone you have to race levels much higher then you, since poor guys can't beat their own level.
-Memory leak issues.
-While not apparent at first there is alot of grinding in more ways then one.

OVERALL:
I'd recommend this game to any racing fan or fan of Initial D. Its simple, its fun and its free. Personally I liked this game much more then NFS Carbon.
