Shrek Smash and Crash "Smashing Fun"
What makes this game unique are the mounts. Instead of driving a kart of some sort you drive or ride a mount. The mount may be a horse, a cupcake with peppermint candy wheels, a big hairy lizard, a bull etc. Every Shrek 2 movie character has their own unique type of mount and they all perform in their own way. Some run like an animal while some fly or hover. There is a big variety of weapons and boosts that you pick up along the race track and use to your advantage. These pick ups are a lot more fun to use then those found in the MK series. The tracks are insane with at lease two or three places where you can catch massive air and fly hundreds of feet before landing back on the track. The tracks also fork in multiple places giving you a variety of ways to tackle each track. The tracks are very dynamic and crazy with lots of jumps, dips, river crossing and just way more fun than the MK series. One track sucks you up into a tornado and drops you hundreds of feet in the air on a giant bean stalk. You then have to race down to the base of the stalk to get back on the main track. The graphics look great on the PS2 and frame rates seem good also. Sound is also solid. If you like Mario Kart I think you may will like this game as much or more.
