You can't be wrong. It's really Kartz!

User Rating: 8 | DreamWorks Madagascar Kartz PS3
If, looking at this tile, your first through is a relation with Mario Kart genre, you're right. It's not a copy, but it looks similar.

You select a car, with different character from Madagascar as much as certain guest. Any of them have unique stats. The main goal is to get through the 50, 100, 150 and 200CC championships in solo mode. As all Kart, you get special box on the track and get special items that you can throw, protect yourself with or use as nitro. Also, each character has an unique item, as a swamp gas from Shrek, which reduce the handling of everyone for a certain amount of time.

You gain turbo power as you slide or doing some stunts. Managing your turbo is essential. Along the tracks, they're also mangos which add points to your total in championship, but you'll find it's better to just hit them when on your way.

Racing is fun and handling the turbo side is a pleasure. The AI is just correct. Not too hard not too easy. The graphics are very nice, sound also.

The game lack tracks, so after a while, you'll find that you're doing same race over and over. Handling the kart is slightly tricky, and can sometimes occurs in unwanted move.

This is why this title won't be a classic for the ps3, potential is there, but game is not pack enough with tracks. Mulitplayer is a good fun on the short terms, and usual time trial is available with your ghost.

You just feel after a while that this game was meant for younger audience. Character are fun and nice, making you smile. But the real fun has been cut in half because it lacks diversity.

This said, this game is still a good one. You'll have fun and probably come back for more.

Price tag is good, so, you'll make a good deal. But, after 2 months, this game will start accumulating dust on the shelf.
