Dragon Quest IX - Sentinels of the Starry Skies

User Rating: 10 | Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies DS

From the get go the quality of the story is brilliant. Not something I expected when I origninally pick this game up. As movies do, there is more than one story going on as you journey through. Unlike other games where this is attempted all the stories are mix together as well as your favourite song no doubt is.

It was something that kept me entertained throughout and didn't bore me. Thinking of it, the way the game is set out like Fullmetal Alchemist, where they can be serious, or comedic when it needs to be.

For a DS game, the content within Dragon Quest IX is extrordinary. This game took me around 100 hours to merely finish the main story. Like most turn based experience there is a little experience "grinding" which isn't a bad thing in my opinion. You probably could have got away without having to do this, however as these normally do, it does become a little easier.

The difficulty within this game is fantasticly balanced for a hard, but fair gameplay. It encourages you to make your character grow, rather than making it easy and giving people no reason to try.

Overall, I think that this is an amazing game that deserves more than what this game gets. This is one of the best games I've played. Even after the amount of time I playing this game, I still go back for more.
