This game has a more developed story (still very simplistic), 3 playable characters (you no longer a loner!), a lot more monsters to kill, towns to visit and dungeon to explore. The graphics are a little bit sharper and i was glad they dropped the ugly fight backgrounds from DW1.

This game solidified the "visit town, buy equipment and clean dungeon" (rinse and repeat) aspect of the series. If you don't like this concept, this series won't be for you.

You will still need to level grind but not as bad as the first one. At least you have 3 characters to develop. The graphics and sound are a little bit sharper but not by much. If you wish to play this game for the first time i recommend getting your hands of the DW1 & 2 remake for the GBC.

  Bring on Dragon Warrior III. This version is leaps and bounds beyonds Dragon Warrior I.
