Classic RPG, the one that started it all! Great for that time.

The original Dragon Warrior is the first RPG I have ever played. I was like 7 when I first played it. But recently, I have decided to get all the dust off my NES and get that game out of the closet. Just before playing it, I was experiencing Dragon Quest VIII, so I was curious to see what started it all.

Graphics
For a game made in the late '80s, its not bad. Also it is quite an upgrade of the japanese version Dragon Quest, where there isn't any character animation! I find that the monsters are well desined and presented.

Sound
Ok, the music is kind of boring, but it's a NES game, right? Though I prefer the Mario Bros. music. It has good sound effects when you attack, go down stairs or when you win.

Gameplay
Excellent, nothing bad to say about it. I would like the character to go down the stairs on its own instead of going through the action menu, but it's not that bad. Combat is great, nice set of attack and spells. There is a good set of items, very original. Enemy AI is pretty good and they are fun to look at : CUTE SLIMES :D

Value
A very good RPG that will last you a good amount of hours. Very addictive to go in the wild and try to level-up.
