Fun RPG

This game is great fun. A great recommendation for the Wii virutal console. I played this game ages ago and I'm playing it again.

DBZ: Chou Saiya Densetsu is an RPG where the result of a battle is decided upon the selection of a card. The result works out quite nicely with players gaining new abilities as they level up and progress through the game.

Players travel through an open world environment fighting baddies that you randomly encounter while trying to complete their quest. The story unfolds as you meet people in the game. There are no surprises for fans of DBZ as this takes place during the Frieza saga.

Players will walk or fly across land and sea searching for their sinister foes. Random battles will be initiated with a simple transition. Players will receive a selection of cards with attack and defence cards. These will consist of standard attack cards, a unique attack card for each characters fighting style which will allow the fighter to jump into battle, attacking all their opponents. Lastly, there is a Ki attack where the user will perform one of their unique, devastating attacks. Kamehameha, Demon Ray, Gyogekiha and many more fill the Z-Fighter's arsenal. The actions scenes that ensue are a nice touch and it makes you feel like you're watching the series. Cool punch-for-punch battles, headlong charges, massive explosions are all par-for-the-course in DBZ. The music, although repetitive adds nicely to the chaos on-screen.

A skilled player could breeze through this game, provided he makes the right decisions in a battle. Using Ki when it is necessary, stocking up on items at the shops, etc.

The game lacks instructions in some of the training areas but a walkthrough always helps :-), a little easy and short, but an awesome game to play
