Once I got the hang of playing the combat sequences in tactical (pause) mode I started enjoying the game. The artwork, the characters, the storyline, I can't remember a single flaw in any of these. Such a flexible game, and so very immersive in both character development, skill advancement, and storyline intrigue. The only flaw that nagged me was the gameplay. One nitpicky gripe: stairwell ascension! For whatever reason, the final step seemed to be the one that my active character invariably stuck/tripped on. BioWare has a genius team of developers for both this masterpiece and Mass Effect 2. Though I sacrificed myself at the end, I still look forward to playing the expansion and any sequels that permit an import from this game. I actually grew fond of the personalities of key members of my team.
