Everything about the game is wrong, first we need to remove the RPG tag, then remove DRAGON AGE 2 as its title......
See, DA2 had some great moments..... a lot of people say that without comparing it with DAO its a good game, and in some ways its a good game, but stays in the "good" and at time drifting towards BAD. For godsake there are mods in Oblivion that have more location, area, map etc than in this game. jes because a game spans 10 years does not excuse it for trying to fit in every quest in a single cave!!!!! To be specific, there is one cave structure, one mansion structure, and deep road kinda structure that has been copy pasted for every freaking quest!!!
DA2 comes with a new inventory interface, character looks snappy with all the awesome armors, but it is also harder to recognize the icons - they all jes look same!! Here, i'd like to note that the armor designs are far better than DAO but they are useless!!!! I'll tell u why - starting the game i started with that Blood Dragon Armor, the other armor i fancied was stone hammer armor set, it took me the whole act 2 to find it and i got the chest plate only in act 3, and it took me 15 minutes after that to get the champion set! and guess what, the rest became useless because for some reason Bioware thought it brain-storming and innovative to restrict companion inventory - jes what the heck were they thinking!!! By this one INNOVATION they managed to chop down my experience by 7/8th....... i do not know about others but for me playing an RPG with companions means I AM PLAYING ALL THE CHARACTERS that means 8 times the fun!!! Anyways, now i was accompanied by companions who wore the same armor for 10 long years....
Personally, for me the only redeeming part of the game was the combat, but even here they manage to screw up by tweaking the camera control...... i still don't understand why they removed the isometric camera!! Was it in the way of technical improvements and hence needed to be removed or were they just plain lazy to add that!!!
Graphic was good so long as u had DX 11, which also means a lot of people missed out on it, and to add up disappointment i had to download the Hi-definition texture online, why did it not come with the package - i guess this is what happens when u make a game for console and port it to pc.
I see a lot of great reviews stating jes how great the game is and all, with pc gamer calling it the RPG of the decade. Are u kidding me!!! it is not even an RPG, at best its an action adventure with traces of decision making!!
in the end i can only surmise this - Everything about the game is wrong, first we need to remove the RPG tag, then remove DRAGON AGE 2 as its title and name it as the adventure of SOMETHING Hawke, then and only then will we get a clearer image of the game. And, mind u, even then it will only be an okay game.
