The Good: Looks and sounds great, tilt to shoot mechanics work, good variety of enemies and guns

The Bad: Can get hard and repetitive towards the end, the controls are a bit tricky at times

Doom is one of those games that keeps getting remade. Doom 3 is also suffering the same fate. Doom: Resurrection is an on rails shooter that is a side story of Doom 3. The game uses the accelerometer to aim (which works well) and has a good amount of guns from Doom 3. Everything, in fact, is straight from Doom 3.

You play as a marine who is stranded on a Mars research facility and needs to escape. Scientists opened a portal to Hell and the demons from there are taking over the facility. Accompanying you is a flying robot named Sam who is operated by a scientist. You need to get the data about what happened of the planet and to Earth. The game has all the creepy creatures from the PC game which is a good variety. There are boss fights, hidden items, and everything you'd love in a Doom shooter.

You get to carry three guns at a time and the game chooses which ones and when. When you come across a new gun it replaces another, but this keeps you thinking since you have to use different guns for different situations. Use the shotgun when enemies are up close, and a machine gun when they're far away. However, you get your machine gun at all times with unlimited ammo, and the other two slots are switched out throughout the game. You can tap areas that have health or ammo to collect it. Shooting barrels can kill enemies, but can also damage you so be careful.

The game has a ducking feature that lets you dodge enemy fire if timed right. Enemies with guns have yellow circles on them that turn red when they have a bead on you so take cover and time it right. The game has about 5 or 6 levels, but each are pretty long with multiple checkpoints. The game looks and sounds great and if you are a Doom 3 fan you will dig this. The game does get very hard towards the end and can be a bit repetitive, but the game is very enjoyable and well worth the money.
