When I first started playing I was amazed (I had completely forgotten about the very long load time) as I explored the Mars station and prepared myself for the carnage that was sure to come. And it did, very soon. Maybe a little too soon since I had no idea of the story. After the first few levels I skipped the movies entirely. I played few with great fervor, amazed at the graphics. Doom 3 looks much better then Halo 2, but sometimes Halo 2 textures disappear or don't load right, Doom 3 never missed a beat. But as mentioned before the load times are unbearable and if you die you can't start again without sitting through another load time. But in fairness to Halo, after your first mission I guess you don't need to load, something I wish had been implemented with Doom. I was also dissappointed by the no split screen feature, which although makes sense with the demanding graphics, is still a buzzkill. I did not have live at the time but I did play multi on the PC and it was nothing splendid. All in all a good game but with a few more months of fine tuning and expanding, it could of been a great game.
