It's been 3 years since I played Doom 3 on the PC, I never really finished it but now I can on the Xbox 360.

Still the same old Doom, but with a few changes and additions, I'll start with gameplay first.

The gameplay is still there, although the game seems more like action-horror rather then survival-horror. Ammunition is more common and easier to get then the original and the scares are still there, but they become expected as you venture further into the game.

The new armor mounted flashlight is a pretty neat addition, however though much like before it does subtract from the horror feel of the game...I really wish they would have made it a toggable option.

Now onto the multiplayer.

One thing that really get's under my skin is that there is no ability to play Doom 3 in local splitscreen co-op anymore, you can on Doom and Doom 2 but Doom 3 doesn't have it.

Multiplayer in the game is not bad but more odd, the PC version can have a maximum of 2-8 players while the PS3 and 360 versions can only have 2-4, doesn't bother me a lot because it's still fun but it does puzzle me as to why it was put this way.

I love how it has so many game modes to play, I am still unsure about how many people play this online however.

So now we're on our way to the visuals.

The visual quality in the game has been increased, though not by a whole lot. It has been remastered for HD televisions, HDMI also helps bunches and it also has support for 3D.

I have seen complaints made about the dated graphics, well duh it's Doom 3 not Doom 4 what would you expect?

I have also seen complaints about how shadows don't render when a flashlight is pointed at an enemy or and object, not even on the PC version. This could be a bug as shadows do render with flashlights in online play.

Anyways I would recommend this to any Doom fanatic or someone who has never played the original, I have played the original and am not a Doom fanatic, I just love to play the game and playing in my room than on my computer chair is a nice change. $30 might seem a bit too much, but the additions of Doom and Doom 2 plus RoE expansion for Doom 3 and the Doom 3: Lost Mission mini campaign AND most of the expansions for Doom and Doom 2 make it worth it.

Campaign - 9.0
Multiplayer - 8.0
Visuals - 8.5
Controls - 8.5 (I really wish they would have put a toggable crouch and sprint option.)
Gameplay - 9.5
