Doom may not be better then Duke Nukem 64,but it is most certainly better then most 1st-Person Shooters for it's day.

What it's about: You play as a badass stricken to hunt down demon scum with an amazing arsenal and variety of guns and rocket launchers with the point to go from area to area cleaning the house. My Thoughts: For a SNES 1st-Person Shooter, Doom ROCKS! The game itself is very similer to the rather recent Duke Nukem 64. You kill aliens while looking for different colored key cards to open different colored doors to get to the exit which will allow you to progress through to the next level which will force you to kill more aliens/mutants while finding your way out of a new maze and on to the next level. The game has multiple chapters which involve different levels which makes Doom one of the longest 1st-Person Shooters on the SNES. Still not a long game by any means, Doom is a great long lasting 1st-Person Shooter. The sounds are pretty decent for any SNES game, but not the best I've heard even for a 1st-Person Shooter. The guns sound accurate enough, along with the enemies, but everything else is much less accurate and doesn't give much of the needed enthusiasm that a 1st-Person Shooter needs, but what the hell, still sounds great. The plot really is the weakest part in the game, but remember that back in the 90's and before the only games that really had decent plots were RPG's, nowa days just about every type of game has a decent plot, including racing games. Doom may not be better then Duke Nukem 64,but it is most certainly better then most 1st-Person Shooters for it's day.
