A nice game. Bad idea.

User Rating: 5.5 | Donkey Kong Jr. no Sansuu Asobi NES
Donkey Kong Jr. Math is a math game (of course) staring DK Jr. In this you swing from vine to vine collecting numbers to add up to answer a given equation. You go head to head with a friend to see who can solve it first.

It's good but thats not without its flaws. There is no single player, so you have to find someone to do multiplayer with you. You must find the sum, etc. that equals the answer at the top of the screen. Who ever gets the right numbers first wins. My friend and I played this like 20 times beating each other. It will get stale after a few days to a week so don't expect much replay.

Not much at all to it, but the numbers, the stage, (which always looks the same.) and the sprite of Donkey Kong Junior. The sprite is pretty detailed but other than that, don't expect much in the ways of graphics, there's not enough to it. The music and sound effects are okay for old arcade standards, but they could have pushed it up for the NES. The music is alright, but there isn't enough of it to recommend so easily. Yeah really not much can be said about the sound but really it doesn't matter.

This is a fun game to go back and play with friends but it doesn't offer too much of a thrill ride. The multiplayer support is great. Only two players but thats all that NES can hold so thats good enough. But the game doesn't last forever so eventually you'll get tired of it and it will collect dust for a long, long time.

So the idea of math in games is getting pretty familar, but a game based entirely on math is getting a little bit off the hook. Well who cares, it's a fun game and that is really all that matters. Just doesn't last long enough.
