The 4th Donkey Kong Country game is pretty and controls well. Just be sure you have the patience to die. Alot.

User Rating: 8.5 | Donkey Kong Country Returns WII
After a long hiatus from Donkey Kong Country Nintendo finally decides to hand the reins to up and coming Texas developer Retro. And for the most part they have hit their mark on what made the older games so much fun.

PROS:
- Great graphics and animations
- The music works, with a few classic songs returning
- Alot of fun bonus content to unlock for a plartformer
- The controls handle well mostly, the 'wii waggle' isnt too bad
- Varied fun and detailed environments
- Minecart levels return as well as the new (often hilarious) rocket
- Small changes in gameplay like being able to buy extra life and do extended jumps with Diddys rocket pack are great ideas.
- The game has good humor

CONS:
- This game is very difficult. You will die many many cheap deaths.
- The tiki enemies lack the charm of the Kremlin enemies.
- Alot of the Kongs are missing like Funky, Swanky, & Granny
- Did I say this game is difficult? Yeah.. this isnt for children. Or most sane people besides masochists.

So where does this game fall? Well there is fun to be had for old DKC fans, harcore platformer enthusiasts, or maybe anyone wanting a challenge. But alot of the difficulty is the kind that seems cheap just as an attempt to lengthen the playtime. But you wont ever get game over since you have basically unlimited currency to buy more lives.

I would say if you have doubts rent it first to see what you think. The game is quality and should at least be played once if you own a Wii.
