It seems like it could've been a fun game, but not for me.

User Rating: 4 | Divinity: Original Sin II - Definitive Edition PC

Don't get me wrong, the fighting in this game was addictive (and fun to a certain point), especially with multiple party members as it tends to become chaotic and adds to the excitement. But after battling NPCs over and over using similar spell/ability combinations each time it does tend to get boring. Character creation was actually quite good. However, those are the only redeeming qualities of the game, at least for me. I found the lore to be atrocious; coming from games with great/good lore, this did not measure up anywhere close. It didn't capture my attention, and the storyline was all over the place. Outside of fighting, the game itself doesn't offer you too much to do. Exploring different cities and locations felt overly repetitive to me because all of the landscapes looked very similar to one another. Whether I was in a cave or in a prison cell, I couldn't tell because of how dang repetitive the landscapes were. The dialogue between characters was praised by others, but I didn't really see it. The dialogue got quite boring to listen to and I couldn't bother to pay attention after a while. Making this review, I find that it's difficult to come up with the negative aspects as to why I rate this game a 4/10. Simply put, it was boring. I've had friends that have enjoyed it though. Guess it all depends on personal preference.
