You won't find a challenge here but you find out how short Treasure Planet can be in one sitting

User Rating: 5 | Disney's Treasure Planet PS

Past Disney games that have been released on the PS1 during those have had some memorable titles like Toy Story 2, Tarzan and Hercules all developed from Disney Interactive. I'm not saying that games were the best out of the PS1 section there was one other Disney game that was released in 2002 and 2003 for UK/Europe; Treasure Planet was a science fiction adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island. Playing the role of Jim Hawkins you are set off on a ship going on a futuristic voyage to Treasure Planet.

However this game being extremely easy that experienced gamers like yourselves can easily get through the game within a day there is only 4 worlds to explore and two boss fights including getting the fastest time on Solar Surfing. Yet each of the levels you play through you'll need a number of tokens in order to unlock the level, this idea has been used before in the past when you compare this with Toy Story 2 by completing certain challenges but they are all mini games very straight forward. Gameplay elements feel very similar to the likes of the Spyro trilogy using the Circle to zap your laser pistol and destroying certain circle creates; Square button is used to your sword but also used to smash chests. When I mention this game is easy there can be a few odd frustrating moments but it’s mainly based on the platform jumping which can be a little but annoying at times, Yet the Solar Surfing stages feel very similar to the WipEout series each of the race tracks have 6 laps and getting the fastest time. But the odd obstacles and course races have the odd moments where you can't really jump and end up falling off the track by accident making you restart where you last were.

Most of the level designs and environments are a little similar to the likes of Spyro and Rayman 2 when it comes to jumping and climbing platforms, it does have a lack of details for the 4 worlds in travel making you wonder that Disney Interactive should have paid more attention to the PS1 version instead of leaving most of its levels feeling pretty empty. Camera system can be a little fiddly using the L2 and R2 to move the camera or the right analog stick but you can only move it left and right. The only thing that does make Treasure Planet look great would be that the soundtrack is composed pretty well and using the movie cutscenes from the film before the level loads up; they also used the same actors from the movie for this does make up for the loss on a short and disappointing PS1 title from Disney.

This isn't the only game that you can easily beat within 5 hours or less but getting 100% won't give you any particular bonuses or rewards apart from gallery images and movie cutscenes you are better off watching the actual movie itself instead of playing the game.
