It's never really easy finding a really good game based on a Movie or TV series.

User Rating: 9 | Disney's DuckTales GB
With DuckTales Remastered getting released on recent consoles like the PS3, Steam and Wii U. DuckTales was released back in 1989 for the NES and then got ported to the Gameboy a year later. Almost every child watched DuckTales every Saturday morning which had the same name and watching Scrooge McDuck go on one of his adventures or cares about his money too much.

Capcom were behind the game on both Gameboy and NES version and produced by Tokuro Fujiwara who gave were games like Mega Man, Ghost 'n Goblins and Tomba! Story in the game involves Scrooge McDuck traveling across the globe collecting treasure and outwitting his rival Flintheart Glomgold to become the world's richest duck.

You can visit the game's five levels: African Mines, The Amazon, The Himalayas, Transylvania and The Moon, in any order you like, revisiting them in order to access new areas unlocked after collecting certain items. This can lead to other areas in each of the levels. With this being a 2D platformer it is a simple action platformer, using the A button to jump and B button to use you cane; if you are a close to a boulder or treasure chest you can swing you can to toss or open stuff. You can also use your cane as a pogo stick by jumping and then holding the B button as soon as you hit back to the ground. At the end of each level you'll encounter a boss battle and of course how much treasure you've collected in total will add up and will be saved in your bank.

Pending on what difficulty you play the game on either Easy, Normal or Difficult there are different endings including one without collecting any money altogether. What really shine about this 2D platformer are its outstanding visuals and graphics they've used in the port version on the Gameboy, if this was on the NES it would look a lot better to look at on gameplay and animation. The soundtrack is yet another thing that makes DuckTales so perfect for a based on a TV series; it's hard to ignore the soundtrack half the time because it is really catchy to listen from its Main theme to the Moon level.

It's hard to find good game based on TV shows or even Movies half of them have been successful or completely terrible, DuckTales is one of those rich platformers you don't see that often on video games. I would highly recommend this game if you still own a Gameboy or even an NES for that matter, this is one of the richest and finest platformers that still live up from today.
