A disappointing sequel to a Playstation 1 masterpiece.

User Rating: 6.5 | Die Hard Trilogy 2: Viva Las Vegas PS
The title of this game might be a bit misleading especially to those who have played the original Die Hard: Trilogy. While not three games in one, Viva Las Vegas tells a single story alternating back and forth between game modes from third person shooter to light gun style and finally a driving mode. The overall visuals are average to mediocre for a game of its time as far as production goes the main highlight of this game is the superb voice work especially from the Bruce Willis sound-alike along with all the witty catch phrases and one-liners. What wasn't so great about this game is the fact that the controls were quite unresponsive and clunky. Getting g through narrow doorways in third person mode was more troublesome than it should have been and the driving controls made those levels extremely difficult. There wasn't too much variety in the mission modes and you ultimately need to rely on your firepower for the most part to deal with tougher foes. Also it is easy to get confused and become lost and unaware of what to do and where to go. The game gets kudos from me for being really violent but not everybody would find that trait worthy of redeeming this game. I'd recommend it to fans of the movies and those who really like their games to be violent and mindless but warn that this game has some major hiccups.
