Hack & Slash, level up and build your skill tree while gaining a lot of extra items!!!!!

User Rating: 8.5 | Diablo II PC
This game was release in 2000. I played it for the 1st time in 2011.

The first thing I realize, disgusting graphics! A lot of pixels can be seen and its nothing beautiful. But it's ok, I was able to understand and get over it to enjoy the game.

Once I chose my class character (yeah, there is 5 classes!), I investigated my skill tree. It looks a lot like the one in World of Warcraft (WOW). Which is a good thing. The character chosen which level up, got enough skills choices that it can go up to lvl 99 and it will only fill up a part of its skill tree. So there is deep customization.

I didn't reach lvl 99. After I've finish the game once. I started with another character. I felt that this hack & slash, after a looooong moment, got repetitive. Sure, I never know when an enemy is going to drop a new item that will be fantastic for my character. And when it does, hell yeah I'm happy as 3years old who is eating chocolate ice cream with Froot Loops, chocolate syrup, peanuts and a ton of chocolate nuggets! So do I when I level up and unlock this special skill I was waiting for a few days.

The story is good, but after I've reach level 30 or so, I did finish the 4 acts and I could start over with a new character (which I did) or start over with the same character on a harder difficulty. In both case, the story will repeat itself. The gaming experience might feel a little bit different.

Still, there is nothing better than play this game online with some friends.

Diablo 2 is a good game, even ten years later, I appreciated my purchase. But maybe if I did buy it on the date of its release I might have play it more. Now, I felt that there were other games which could deliver an as good or even better experience that this one.
