The GOOD- addictive, amazing multiplayer, lots of items, lots of quests, lots of monsters, amazing boss fights, good selection of classes.
The BAD- Graphics not so great, Occasional lag in open battlenet, some might find the gameplay repetitive.
Why is Diablo II so addictive? The simple and great concept of kill>get gear>level up>new area.
The monsters are fun to kill, and the bosses can be insane. You love it when you get a badass drop, and can show it off! In my opinion playing online closed battlenet kicks singleplayer's ass! (open battlenet sucks)
Why does open battlenet suck?
Let me just say if you have been working hard on a character in single player, but want to play with some other people for an hour and decide to try open battlenet it ruins it for you. I went on with my level 24 barbarian, and in an hour somehow I ended up leveling to level 74! So now my singleplayer experince is completely ruined. Had to delete and start a new character.
Diablo II has hundreds of different weapons, items, armors, ect. You will never have the best of the best, because you keep getting better items.
The multiplayer is the best part of Diablo II.
When on CLOSED battlenet you have to create a new character that can only be used online. You go through quests with other real players and will meet some awesome players. You will have a blast fighting bosses with characters your level... rushing is for the weak.
Rushing? Rushing is when a lower level, say a level 14 has a say level 67 just kill the boss or eliminate monsters in an area to quickly get the lower level past that part. Players who rush through the whole game, never experience anything nearly as amazing as beating the game with a good party in your level range. (amazing battles)
The only thing I thought that really brought this game down is the graphics... Since I started playing in 2010 I was used to great graphics such as games like Guild Wars or Half Life. Diablo II is such a great game, that the graphics really don't bring it down much. I would give this game a 10/10 if it had better graphics.
Conclusion: Diablo II is a must have rpg for everyone with a computer made from 1998-present! THAT MEANS YOU.
