A great video pinball game... if there can really be one.

User Rating: 8.5 | Devil Crash TG16
The TG16 was an underrated console in its day. The color palette was vivid and it had the best sound of its generation. Devil's Crush is almost a demo of what the TG16 was all about. I still play this game on the Turbo Express and it remains my all-time favorite hand-held pinball game, but even on the big screen Devil's Crush delivers the goods. Video pinball games will always be "missing something". Pinball is an analog sport in a digital world. That said, pinball isn't as much about physics as it is about getting a "feel" for a particular table. The kind of sensory feedback and response pinball requires just isn't appreciated by video game developers. Devil's Crush bears the burden of being out of it's element as well as any video pinball game before or since. The visuals are striking. The sound is excellent nearly twenty years after it's release, and the game takes advantage of being a video game by incorporating mini-games into the experience. If Devil's Crush were on a more popular console it would be a must-play example of the transition of pinball into the video age, it's that good.
