I am pretty sure that most of the gamers out there know what Devil May Cry series is. As Dante - a demon hunter with white hair, cocky and laid-back attitude makes DMC games even more popular. This time around, we have the forth installment in the series which definitely follows the gameplay from DMC3.

The story takes place in the modern times. This part of the world is not destroyed. Nero - a completely new protagonist, takes part in some kind of religious meeting organized by the order which worships the legendary Dark Knight Sparda. The meeting is interrupted by Dante who brutally starts killing everyone on his way including the most important person in the whole order. Nero decides to stop Dante and find out what is going on.

Who is Nero actually? Nobody knows who was him family although he is very similar to Dante's twin brother - Vergil. He even knows how to perfectly use the Yamamoto sword (a long katana used by Vergil as his main weapon). Nero's white hair and demonic hand also make him a half human and a half demon. His demonic hand allows him to reach and toss enemies and objects which are far away from himself. It is a very useful weapon during the whole game. Apart from the demonic strong hand, Nero also has a broadsword and a double-barrelled revolver. Our new protagonist is cocky and a little bit laid-back, but not as much as Dante. Speaking of Dante himself, we will be able to play as Sparda's son later in the game. While playing Devil May Cry 4 we will encounter many interesting characters such as: Lady with her big gun (chick from DMC3) and Trish (Dante's sister). These babes are both beautiful and sexy, especially Lady. The enemies with bosses have interesting and nice design just like all the locations which we will visit.

The world of Devil May Cry 4 is not as dark as the one from DMC3, but still, each and every place is very climatic. For example a huge castle at night in the snowstorm looks very atmospheric. What is more, the gameplay is exactly the same as in Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening for PS2 which is absolutely great. All fighting and shooting elements in DMC4 are very effective and stylish. We can upgrade all our weapons and also buy new abilities and stars which will cure us and increase our devil power. Furthermore, we can finally change our fighting style whenever we want to. It means that we do not have to wait until we finish the whole mission. Great decision Capcom. Overall, the gameplay in Devil May Cry 4 is outstanding, the missions are fun and cool, characters are interesting and the story is pretty good. The game's atmosphere shows us that it is still a survival horror game where slashing demons is fun and cool. Enemies' A.I. is good and the game itself is not very easy to beat. All the cutscenes are stunning and the action is jaw-dropping and dynamic. Nero and Dante made this title really gorgeous although the Son of Sparda is better than his white hair friend.

The visual and audio effects in Devil May Cry 4 are really outstanding. The Character animation and the environment look very good and the voice over is professional. Of course some textures lack high resolution when you look close enough and they could be fixed by the developer if they really wanted to do it. Some Heavy metal soundtrack suits the game perfectly.

All in all, Devil May Cry 4 lives up to its legend and it was a very good decision to base the whole gameplay on fantastic Devil May Cry 3. If you like slashing demons while listening to some heavy metal, survival horror atmosphere and also stylish and jaw-dropping action than this title is just for you.
