For those of your who might be interested in the upcoming 'DE:Human Revolution', here is a review of the famous classic.

User Rating: 7 | Deus Ex PC
Lets get the obvious out of the way first. 'Deus Ex' is dated. The graphics are not easy on the eyes, animation is stiff and the AIs is stupid but this does not spoil what is otherwise a fun engrossing game, even by the standards of a modern gamer.

It may take you a while to get into 'Deus Ex' at first as its story is very hard to follow and slow to develop, which isn't redeemed by a cast of generally boring characters and a dull script. However, the interesting concepts and intriguing mysteries that surround the plot will eventually win you over and push you to move on.

The gameplay mechanics are dated but are still very interesting. The game allows you to customise your character's abilities to a staggering extent. There are a huge number of skills that you can develop by spending experience points that range from computer hacking, swimming, weapons training and more. On top of skills, your character is equipped with 'nano-augmentations' that give him super-human abilities that can be customised to allow him to see through walls, lift extremely heavy objects, take a bullet and so on.

The level of customisation is what makes 'Deus Ex' so much fun. It makes you feel that you are truly in control of how you want to play and the fantastic game design allows for many different approaches in tackling any challenge the game throws at you. The is designed to allow you to try solving problems using diplomacy, violence, stealth or technology. This isn't an RPG about moral choices as every choice that you need to make the game is morally grey and there is no real right or wrong way to proceed with a situation. In fact, significant choices regard the choices on how you customise your character wish to play the game.

'Deus Ex' is overall a fun old game with varied gameplay and an interesting, if sometimes confusing plot. Its not an essential buy but worth checking out.
