The best single-player experience yet this year!!

User Rating: 9 | Deus Ex: Human Revolution PS3
Deus ex is a unique experience. Not only does it give you endless gameplay choices, it tells a great story. Here's how it stacks up -

Graphics - ' Industrial' art style. The cities are designed clinically and while they look good nothing stands out. Certain augmentations and the cutscenes are beautifully realised. At times certain stiffness in character movement and bland facial expressions might make them selves apparent but over all deus ex has quite a unique art style.

Story - In the beginning few hours the story lacks much impact and is somewhat bland! E-books provide some back ground but don't really make for an interesting read. However towards the middle it picks up and by the end it will grip you mentally and emotionally and you wouldn't want to let the controller go. Characters are interesting and do well create an atmosphere of suspense. This is clearly one of the strong points of this game.

Gameplay - You can play it as a standard cover-based shooter or go stealthy or a little of both. With it's great augmentation choices
deus ex lets you complete an object in various ways that guarantees replay value! There are certain limitations though. During the starting levels you would do good to stick to stealth as you are weak and are easily killed. Takedowns are great to watch but you can only use them so many times because of battery limitations which might be looked on as a disadvantage. The killing ones are better to watch but they also make the guards alert which had me sulking. The AI might display dumbness but mostly they will take cover and lob grenades at you freely. Side quests are really good although wish there would be more. Towards the end it kinds of get too easy 'cause u develop into an augmented hulk. Boss fights are relatively easy if u have the right arsenal. Over all with the amount of choices available to approach a situation the gameplay is quite engrossing and flexible.

Choices - They make themselves stand out in ways i haven't seen before. Sometimes u might have to find an alternate path 'cause u botched up an interrogation or a 'certain boss fight becomes that much harder 'cause of your un timely eagerness.
But the conclusion depends on the last few seconds of the game and they aren't much different from each other. I think it could have been better realised.

What is really great about this game is that as u play, Adam jensen becomes an extension of you 'cause this game gives you so many choices and opportunities to respond to any situation the way you want! You can kill people or spare them. You can be cold hearted or sympathetic. Deus ex makes you think about the consequences of your actions until the end. You wouldn't want to miss this treat!!
