A fun game that is a challenge to beat
Pros-
#1.If you love strategy games then this is for you
#2.Upgrading your defense
#3.Some maps are a puzzle in how you place your defense
#4.You can make the game more challenging like I do
#5.Some of the maps look trippy and cool
Cons-
#1.Not much of a story if you want to call it that
#2.Graphics don't impress me but didn't bother me
#3.No multiplayer
#4.The British computer voice sounds like he needs Dr Phil
The Bottom Line -
Defense Grid: The Awakening is fun and can be really challenging which I like.Your job is to protect the cores from aliens.
When I first beat the game I played on the default campaign mode and just tried to survive each level with at least one core left.
I then wanted more of a challenge the second time and I replayed every level in the default campaign.The difference is this time if I lost a single core at any time I would restart the level.It was much much harder.I was able to beat every level doing that so it is possible.
I highly recommend this game if you like strategy. As of today the game is $9.99 on steam full price.There is also 4 separate map packs you can buy which add to the fun but are not big enough in my opinion.The map packs cost $0.99 each as of today.
I would say it is worth that price to me.You can always wait for a steam deal and get it for at least 50% off.
If you like this game then you probably will also like Plants vs Zombies.
