It's a keeper!

I know that the market is flooded with brawlers today. What with wrestling games and fighting games, it's hard to choose a good, solid beat em up. Ah, but lucky for us, a lot of those games already suck, so it narrows down the choices.

Not so is the case with Def Jam: NY. I rented this one night and put it on the hard drive to play it later. Once I got into it, I was hooked. No, it's not an enthraling story, but (A) I was able to create a character that looks just like me, and (B) the gameplay was tight. I mean you feel for the poor schleb your kicking the tar out of because your moves look painful kind of tight.

Plus, you can get tats, clothes, bling, hoes, and just about anything else that goes with the rapper/gangster lifestyle....you know, without all the arrests and bullets. Major players show up, like Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, and Snoop Dogg. Even actors like Omar Epps and Danny Trejo make an appearence.

It's a fun game to have the boys over and kick a little ass. Check it out.
