Humorous, fun to play, we haven't seen the last of DeathSpank and his magic thong.
Every interaction with an NPC is an op[opportunity to have some really weird conversations and you can take the conversation anywhere you want to go. It is a Diablo style of gameplay so their are tons of weapons to collect and potions and about 100 sidequests (tip - do as many sidequests as possible, it can help with leveling up and give you some valuable items), most of the sidequests are very easy to complete and some can be completed in a matter of seconds while others require you to go many different parts of the map. While most of the sidequests require you to go and kill something (and in a few cases DeathSpank kills when he shouldn't) they are entertaining. Because of the structure of a game you will find yourself revisiting an area you explored because a sidequest required you to go there and suddenly enemies that weren't there before show up.
Their are also tons of weapons and special ability items that you pick up or purchase. This started to become a problem for me as my inventory quickly became full and I just started using or recycling items just to get rid of them. Also gold may be scarce in the beginning but in the later stages of the game I just couldn't get rid of it. Leveling up also was quite easy and I had no problem going from 1 to 17 but strangely levels 18 to 20 was quite a chore to achieve.
One tip I would suggest is to select the option to chose the best armour and keep mixing up your weapons as different combinations along with other items lead to some fun effects. The combat takes some getting used to and I would suggest you practice getting a perfect block, trust me you will thank me as the game goes on. I say again use the block and practice with it in the early part of the game so that you become good at it.
A fun game and I expect to see a DLC soon for it, something tells me we haven't seen the last of DeathSpank
