Story: 6.5. This is the story.DJs crush Pandora finds a box in a museum on a field trip their taking an dwants too open it. when she gives up and walks away, DJ slashes it open with his scythe disregarding the warning on it. so then pandora and his other friends (Stigmartha, Seep, and dead Guppy) all get there souls taken by the daddy of all the demons that escaped Moloch, an evil necromancer. so now DJ has to kill all the demons and find all his friends souls spread out in alter demensions of his friends neighborhoods in the museum. good thing Smith and Weston didnt get caught because they are a major part in the game. they are the ones who give you all of your weapons to kick some demon a$$ Gameplay: 9. The gameplay in this game is alot like ratchet and clank. except its demons instead of aliens. although alot of other reviews say there are some issues with the camera i agree but it isint as bad as they say it is. the scythe is a really cool weapon with all its platforming moves it has. i myself tend to like the wall jump which is alot like that in super mario 64. also there are about 8 weapons( twin pistols, shot gun, C4 hamsters, flamethrower, freezethrower, electric gun, chain gun, and a rocket launcher.) though you might say the names are not good, the power they have compinsates for all of that. its INSANE! some of them actually are even good platforming tools. you can freeze an enemy to use it as a step to get to higher ledges. the last thing that is cool is the Assits. they are built up by filling up the combo meter all the way. these are a MAJOR help when you are surrounded by alot of enemies. they slow down time for a couple of seconds and give you a MAJOR power boost. it lets you kill alot of enemies with one hit. the weaker enemies will die instantly when you activate it also. Lastly, i noticed how some reviewers complained about the shotgun being weak and use less. I disagree. This is a very strong weapon, the only flaw is the reloading time. Graphics: 8. This game as some absolutely great graphics for the psp. it is some of the best on the system to date. the tim burton nightmare before christmas style graphics are a well chosen style for our favorite psp mascot and the vibe this game gives off. although at times it can look a little pixelated you dont really notice it because you might be getting your a$$ kicked. Sound: 6 (meh...) even though the LE of this game comes with a sound track its pretty good. but over the course of 15 hours of gameplay you tend to notice hearing the same music. it is pretty cool music regardless though. its a colaboration of hip hop and goth. Replay Value: 8. This game tends to have HIGH replay value because after you finish kicking some demon butt and you stop for a little while, it makes you yurn for more. after you beat it you can still go back and beat all the levels with a perfect and get all the weapon upgrades, so after the storyline is over there is some leftovers for you. HighLights: one major highlight is at the end of each level you get a grade that is earned upon the average of ( # of kills, Destruction you caused, combos you pulled off, and the special items you found.) the special items you get in this game are Widgets the things you use to buy upgrades to weapons and defense, Soul Pieces which are what your friends are broken into and you have to find 3 pieces to every friend in there own little levels, Health extenders increase DJs defense, and Assist extenders which are used to store all the assits you build up from combos. Overall: over all i give this game an 8.7. Pros: Great Gameplay Nice choice of graphics and sound. they collaberate nicely The replay value is high so after you finish kicking molochs but you can still go back adn get all the stuff you skipped in anticipation of the boss. The weapons in this game go very nicely with the whole "vibe" of the game Lastly, the control scheme of the gaem isint awkward and annoying, its easy to pick up and play. Th elearning curve is about 0 to 15 min. Cons: The camera is sometimes getting stuck behind you in the heat of a battle so you have to recenter it with the L button I wish it could have gone a little deeper into the story i really liked the characters Lastly, I would have liked to see a machine gun instead of a Chain gun because id liked to move around with it. 8.7 Great
