User Rating: 6.5 | Deadly Creatures WII
When I first heard about Deadly Creatures I thought everyone would love it. Think about it: a great looking game (for that on the Wii), a promising story, and not your everyday heros (a turanula and scorpion, in case you didn't know). However, I had big optimism for this game, and ironically I think I turned into one of the people who didn't fully enjoy the game.

You control both a spider and scorpion in the middle of a desert as you simply explore beautiful enviroments and fight enemies to survive. But of course, there would have to be a catch--otherwise the game would be just stupid. Denis Hopper and Billy Bob Thorton play two human prospectors who are looking for gold and treasure...i guess. They don't reveal all their motives at the very beginning. The point is the more you play, the more you find out.

Both arachnid protagonists have specifically designed controls using both button presses and motion flicks. But its nice that Rainbow Studios and THQ didn't just cram something in there and say, "it works."

My first problem with the game is this: its way too freaking short. I've seen someone's review (not on this website) about the game and he said it only took him less than 4 hours to beat the entire enchilada. Less than 4 hours. Can you believe that? I found myself replaying already completed levels so I wouldn't end up rushing through it like I know my friend might have.
Another problem is the fact that the game is supposed to have an interesting story, but neither human is there for about 60% of the game. And when they were there sometimes I didn't know what in the world they were talking about (but that's only my problem, not the game itself).
Oh, and this game for me has no reply value.

This game is not all bad and if I had to say something good about it the controls are good and they don't overdoit with motion controls like so many other games out there. And everything looks so awesome graphic-wise. This is no doubt one of the better looking games on Nintendo's little white rectangle.

However I feel that the bad partly outweighed the good. If your looking for a unique and different gaming experience, then Deadly Creatures will do you good. But because of little replayable value and to short of a game length, I can only recomend this as a rent. This game "slips by"
