A sequel that should be forgotten.

User Rating: 6.7 | Dead to Rights II PS2
Dead to Rights II gives you the role of Jack Slate, a cop who is ruthless and will do anything for alittle action. The first Dead to Rights was a great title. Bringing you a great storyline and gameplay that was fun and gory. Dead to Rights II is nothing close to the first one. The story this time around is anything but good. The story is very weak and not interesting at all, sometimes you won't even be listening to the story and just waiting to play. I too didn't pay much attention to the story but it's basically get a target, fight through tons of guards and criminals occupying the area and kill the target. It doesn't get more innovative then that. The story also doesn't update itself alot. There's just one movie for a whole set of levels involving the same person. The gameplay on the other hand is awesome. You can have guns like dual pistols, shotguns, machine guns, and can even carry gernades. Also coming back to the gameplay is the classic matrix jump movie where basically everything around you slows down making for easy kills. But it's not what I thought it would be, you can barely kill two people in the air, but slow-motion makes for some pretty cool effects. After what all you heard you probaly think this game is pretty simple, well your wrong. Health boxes are usually only found when you really need life. You barely get out of levels alive. The sheer amount of enemies make this game one of the toughest yet. What makes this so boring though is that it's just annoying how enemies come to fight you, it's basically the same thing every single level, unlock a door and a bunch of enemies come flying at you. The innovativness of this game is just not found. Nothing new is brought to this game, but just having gameplay itself it can be a fun experience. At most just rent, this sequel disappoints.
