User Rating: 5.3 | Dead to Rights II PS2
When I played the first game, it had a solid story, good gameplay and it's share of cut scenes. In part two, the story is almost non existent, the gameplay is near the same but all the levels look the same and there are almost no cut scenes. This is a very flawed game that takes a step back from it's predecessor instead of forward. You start out as a hard-nosed, take no crap cop named Jack Slate. Jack is supposed to like find some important guy that's been kidnapped for some reason or another. But that's about it as far as the story goes. Graphics 5/10 The graphics are outdated. I've seen better graphics on PS games maybe. The levels look the same, and the characters have hardly no animation done to them. Sound 5/10 Not much better here. It doesn't have terrible music to where it brings the whole integrity of the game down, but the sound definitely doesn't stand out and sounds like it was on.....again....a PS game. Game play 7/10 This is where the game shines...well....kinda. The shooting in this game is enough to keep you playing I guess. It kinda reminds me of an arcade game more than a PS2 game. Since all you're really doing is fighting and shooting the whole game through levels that look the same. Replay Value 6/10 If you're a fan of just going out and slaying people in a game and dont like depth, then this is definitely a good replay game. But, as far as playing this game again if you're none of the above? You're better off renting the first one or True Crime. All in all Dead To Rights definitely needed some work on it. It seemed like the threw it together and got it out there before the deadline or whatever.
