The game is fantastic, plain and simple.

Awesome visuals, genuinely terrifying, neat weapons, and just plain fun. The production values on this game are off-the-charts; quite simply, Dead Space 2 is the standard for sci-fi shooters. I don't think any developer can get away with nonsense like Mindjack (a horrible game, 5 years behind in graphics and visuals).

Note how the Dead Space team took this to another level; instead of a ship, we now have a huge sprawl to explore. This means more and more frights than previous and all kinds of surprises. The story itself is fantastic (I'm working my way through Dead Space: Martyr), and the improvements in pacing and game-play really stand out. The atmospheric sound is also excellent, the voice-acting is decent, and the music apropos.

The game is amazing, and I applaud EA for developing a worthy sequel. Let's hope DS 3 is even better.
