Dead Head Fred is an open-world action-adventure in wich you play as Fred, a private investigator in a city called Hope Falls, who got killed and decapitated. A doctor fixes him up, with only one problem: His head is missing and he is suffering of amnesia. As the story progresses you will face various bad guys and friends of Fred. Instead of his head he is wearing a jar, wich can be switched with heads you rip off enemies as you progress (there are 9 in total). Every head has a diffrent fighting style and special ability (Example: Bone Head - climbing up specific walls; Dummy Head - talking to people). The enemies (about 10 diffrent ones) also have diffrent weaknesses, so youll have to switch heads a lot. Combat is basically fulfilled with 4 buttons, wich stand for light, heavy, medium attack and finisher (wich is ripping heads off). There are also various bosses in the game. But combat is only one half of the game. The other is exploring and item collecting. There are also minigames like Pinball, fishing, Cock Fighting and Pool. The open world is divided into 8 boroughs (Castle Steiner, Creepy Hollow, Uptown, Downtown, Zombieland, Freak Farms, Old Hope Falls and Boonies). These boroughs look completely diffrent from each other. There are also waypoints because the open world is big. There are frequent load times though, wich suck a little bit of the fun out of travelling. The game takes about 8 hours to complete if your fast, but you will stay in Hope Falls to collect worms (to upgrade heads) or completing side missions. The story is amazing and dialouge is even better (it includes a lot of swearing).

Dead Head Fred is a very good open world action adventure. Particularly the story and dialouge are hilarious and great to watch and listen.
