An action game that offers new content(weapons etc) all the way to the end and has a good story to boot!

OK, first this game is not like GOW. If you want a straight action game in that veign, go check out Dante's Inferno.

Gameplay: You get various weapons and combos but it is clear that gameplay was not the SOLE thing on the devs mind. Yes the cmbat is very fun but it is not as over the top as some other pure action games. This game throws in a very nice, albeit used, combat system with some awesome puzzle solving(that only gets better as the game goes on) and a nice adventure feel to it. The game wants you to explore and then go back to explored areas once you get new items. Combat becomes more fun the more you invest in it. I highly recommend investing in new combos as combats gets a little stale until you do. There are lots on innovative ways to kill baddies(like drag them to you with the chain, uppercut them into the air, then knock them across the screen with the "hammer" glove. I won't go into all the detail about the combat system but suffice to say, the moree you invest in offense, the more fun the game will be .

Sound: For a game like this, the voice acting had better be good, and luckilly it is. The voice acting is amazing. Mark Hamil is great as the watcher(although he recycles his joker voice which is disapointing) and Samael is GREAT. War is not your typical brutish kill anything guy. He is smart and lives by a code.
The music is quite good, if not revolutionary. If you have ever played a game with a great "moody" sountrack", you will recognize elements here. Still, it fits the game like a glove.

Graphics: Very very good, but highly stylized. If you're looking for a "realistic" looking game, this is not it. That is not to say it is WOW-cartoony(as some assert) but the game find a nice balance between realism and over the top dark fantasy that really works. You really feel immersed in the world they create and there is enough realism to draw you in but enough fantasy to take your breath away(wait until you see the size of some of the characters.... WOW!!!!)

Story: This game has a great story that can be a little hard to follow(but it is not convaluted like the GS reviewer thinks. The only problem is that until about 65-70 percent of the game is completed, story elements come between long expanses of gameplay(really good gameplay though), which means you sometimes for get parts of the plot but luckily, the game reminds you of these points throughout. The story really picks up once you reach the dark tower and although the ending screams for a seuqel, it still feel "complete" if that makes sense. You really want to see what happens with the characters.

Misc: Ok, some games you kind of "adopt". This game was like that for me. You can tell the game, althoughs looks and plays great, did not have AAA money behind it. The devs really cared about this game and it shows. Are there rough edges???? Yes. BUt liek an underground band, this game draws you in and makes you want to like it.

*****If you take on thing from this review, let this be it: Do not give up on the game. At first, combat can seam a little bland and the story may not accelarate quickly enough. The game rewards you as it goes on with better weapons(and combos), enemies, locations, and story. Some games start off amazing then fizzle out. The game does the opposite. It give you enough to draw you in then rewards you with better everything. The game is like a fine wine that gets better with age(in this case time spent). By the end, you are SO excited to see what happens next.*****
