Left-Handers Beware

User Rating: 7.5 | Darksiders II PC
The game was released without a clear way of changing the key setup, the keys were not given letters that most of us expect (C to mount?, O for your GUI?!), but help was on the way. I was excited to see they added patch with a key setup to the primary menu, I am left handed so use of the arrow keys is mandatory... imagine my surprise when I tried to map the arrows to move, it popped up with a big RED "Unrecognized Key"... okay, so I try the next one thinking it can't be that stupid, now it tells me that unrecognized key is in use... wow, no arrow keys, so I decide I'll use the keypad arrows, "Forbidden Key!", OMG, now I realize that left handers like me are screwed, we are forced to play right hand or use a controller... but if I had wanted to use a controller I'd have bought it for the PS3, right??

Many of the moves you perform using the keyboard to jump, lean, and attack require 3 keys at the same time to pull off (shift to lean out, direction key to point where to jump, and spacebar to jump), so when it comes down to it this game is gimped using a keyboard, you can do it, but it never approaches a natural feel.

The action is good, the moves clean, the bosses look very good and can be a challenge to beat, so it's not a bad game, just another console port to the PC with no love for the PC user.
