A Masterpiece

User Rating: 9.5 | Darksiders II PC
The game itself is perfect, but whoever was in charge of porting the game over to the PC should not be allowed to work for THQ. An extremely simple mistake in the graphic settings (which never should have been a problem to begin with) completely ruined the entire experience for PC users. There is a terrible hitching effect which happens when you pan the camera which takes away so much from the overall experience. When a game is designed specifically to allow its user to lose themselves in a beautiful/spiritual world it is quite annoying to constantly be reminded that you aren't by lag and camera hitches. So i went online to see if anyone else had this stutter issue and i was surprised to find dozens of links/forums of people with the same exact problem. After trying all other users suggestions to fix the problem it helped to some extent but it never REALLY fixed the problem. Luckily i eventually figured out what the real issue was and came up with a solution that enabled me to enjoy the game as it was intended. I actually posted the fix here

Aside from this PC problem, the game itself is Perfect, it is hands down the best campaign in a game i have ever had the honor of experiencing. To look back now at all the things i have been through to finally beat this game just feels like a walk down memory lane. I have never been so immersed in such a beautiful/blissfull experience in my entire 10+ years of gaming. After the fourth hour i thought "wow this game provides a lot of content, it must be coming to an end soon" 50 hours and hundreds of bosses later find am still neck deep in the campaign to rid all corruption from the fabric of existence. Never in any game have i ever felt more like the character i was playing as than in darksiders II. Every action i complete genuinely feels like i have done it for the greater good of life and all its elements. At times I literally feel like i am leagues above heaven or light years beyond hell. I have never played a game with this much work put into it. Not only is every boss and character built from scratch and entirely unique in their own way, but the voices, the dialogue, and the actions of every person/thing/beast you come across could not possibly have been developed better. And not only that but the way the characters speak to eachother is just so real and feels so incredibly different than any other games. The things they say to eachother seem so appropriate and spot on if two mystical entities were to finally meet. And the use of wording is so clever and mature, none of it is dumbed down to appeal to the masses. It just feels like everything in this game is real, its hard to explain but there was never one moment where i thought to myself "well that was stupid" or "why doesnt he just do this instead of that?" Death (the name of your character) is just such a non-bs type of guy and he does not spare a second of his time to entertain anything that may deviate from his main objective and will kill anyone (bad or good) willing to get in his way.

The graphics, the music, the sound, the environments are just never ending..Throughout this game i have taken hundreds of screenshots of all the different gorgeous environments and landscapes. I was honestly not expecting much from this game besides just a boring button mashing fighter.. But this game ended up changing my life for the better. I really would like to see games like these get more publicity.. Honestly this game deserves to be held up higher than skyrim and many other triple A titles.
