Something unusually addictive.

Dark Void is a game that when I ask anyone about it, the first thing anyone says is 'It's about the worst game I've played'. When I finally decided to buy the game to see how bad it was, I was glad I brought it, especially so cheap!

The graphics are great within my own personal opinion, the straight forward game play is simple but effective and the enemies have a consistent difficulty throughout the game.

When you start the game it can be rather difficult, the guns you begin with are basic, the upgrading system could use some editing due to the costs, once you have finally upgraded them your opponents are at a disadvantage, explosive rounds being the final upgrade for your starting gun makes it my favourite gun throughout. The difficulty of your opponents never changes, so when you start the game it is rather hard, but nearer the end they become easier due to your increased knowledge and experience of the game and your upgraded weapons.

The constant moving around is a great part to the game, as well as the vertical combat, the vertical combat is unique but it has possibly been used before, giving you cover and a foothold to shoot your opponent is a brilliant thing, almost a shame its not in other games. The jet pack is another great part to the game, the ability to hover above your opponents as you rip through them is always fun, but not quite as fun as being able to full out fly through the vast wildernesses that the game offers you.

The story ties you into the game well, however the ending seemed rather rushed, alongside the boss fight which has to have been the biggest let down for me, it was just to easy, no complex fighting just shooting it, to easy.

Overall I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys something different in a game and that the game itself hasn't been given its rightful place among most games about today.
