Victory Achieved / Duty Fulfilled / Invader Defeated

Awesome game. The core combat feels very realistic. The different weapon styles and variety of enemies keeps the game replayable. There are some great improvements over the original Dark Souls. You can now swap up to 3 weapons in each hand and more utility items in your 'belt'. You can immediately fast travel to any previous bonfire any time. You can also wear up to four rings which is great. The co-op mode in this game is so much fun. The ability to summon NPC assistance for difficult boss fights makes the game even more enjoyable. PvP is a lot of fun since the game does a better job of matching you with someone at your soul level than its predecessor.

I only have a few minor issues that could have made the game better. The first is there still are a few unfair ambush spots where you can be insta-killed without warning. Also, the game world is not as open as Dark Souls 1. There are more narrow hallways which many times prevents large weapons from slashing correctly (or at least damages them). Whereas dark souls was more open in general. Also, there are many locked doors that you have to remember to come back to later to open when you find the key. I found myself having to go to wikis to figure out what to do next. It would have been better if the armor and weapons you find throughout a playthrough was more progressive. Instead, I tended to stick with a few favorite weapons and upgraded them.

Despite these minor things, the game is really fun, challenging and rewarding when overcoming those challenges. I am looking forward to Bloodborne.
