Dark Souls ll is one of the best games I've ever played in my entire life. I love the fact that you start off as a weak, pathetic character who has basically nothing and is thrown in a world you know little about. How do you defeat armored knights and giant turtles with clubs when you have a small weapon and are just wearing rags. This is why I love Dark Souls ll. The struggle, patience and skills to get from point A to point B through out the entire game keeps you on the edge and alert the whole time. If you get tired and you think you can just be lazy and start just randomly attacking... well.. you're going to die.. a lot.
Dark Souls ll is so fun to play and even more fun to play when you're online. Yes this this is a 1 player game at it's heart but it's infused so well with multiplayer it just works so well. Need help on a tough boss? Just use one of the few humanity's you have and summon an ally to assist you to victory. Between exploring new area's, new characters, weapons, upgrades and boss battles, Dark Souls ll is one of the most enjoyable game I've ever played.
Tight controls, great animations, sick armor and weapons are reason to explore and find secret area's to unlock other area's or find a chest. There are direct hints in Dark Souls ll, you merely are thrown into a world and you must discover yourself what everything does. There are so many secrets to find and I would recommend buying the strategy guide just to have some sort of heads up where to go. Even with the guides help you will still die.. many, many times.
I've completed the first play through in roughly about 80 hours. This game is definitely worth the price tag because I could easily put another 80+ hours into it in new game +. If you like action/rpgs and fantasy worlds with dragons and huge creatures and like going up against the odds and using skill to get victory instead of mindless button mashing.. Dark Souls ll is for you. Just be prepared to DIE.
