An honest review , from one DDR fan to another.

User Rating: 8.3 | Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 4 XBOX
I felt that this game should be reviewed since very few gaming sites have reviewed DDR Ultramix 4 for the Xbox . Besides , it's not a bad game at all :). In fact , it's appeal and songs is what makes it so great. But in few minutes , you'll know what I mean.

Aside from the new features like jukebox mode , basic edition (training mode for the n00bs), and the new quest mode; everything you'd expect from a DDR game is here. The Quest Mode is a bit repetative since basically what you do is pick an area, then a song , dance , get a certain "crowd appeal" , and exit the song at anytime when the bar is filled. Plus whats the deal with collecting movies? You have this black guy that looks like something off a horrible 70's flick selling you movies and songs. Til this day , I stil don't know the whole purpose of collecting movies but apparently it's important to collect movies according to the seller (makes no sense , I know). The scoring is a bit tweaked as well since it's very easy to score a AA even if you missed a few steps (in other words , it's not 100 percent accurate). But then again , it's a good thing when it comes to unlocking songs.

Graphically , it's the prettiest DDR game I've played since DDR Extreme 2. The dancers look amazing and of course many of the favorite characters make thier return in Ultramix 4. When you're playing , it feels like something off a music video. For example , when the song starts to pick up a faster beat , the screen and movies starts to flicker faster and faster. The images seem to change as well like it goes from black and white , photo negative , blur effects , and more. Thus making it this game stand out from a graphically stand point.

As far as the sound and effects go , it's effing stellar :)! With songs from the Pussycat Dolls , Geri Hallowell , and of course some of your favorites like Jenny Rom and Naoki makes their appearance in Ultramix 4. In almost every DDR game I've played , the playlist seems to be recycled in some form or other but this game starts from scratch including new and exciting songs you've never heard before. In the entire playlist , theres probably 5-10 returning favorites. Which is good since you don't want to keep hearing the same songs over and over again. Don't get me wrong , I love hearing B4U , Butterfly , Stomp to my Beat and more but thats why I own the other games to listen/play them. Well there you have it and I hope you guys are satisfied since as you could see , I was real bored when I typed this (hahaha) but I really felt like this game should have been reviewed and now it is :).
