Take the rhythm with you, wherever you go!

User Rating: 9.1 | Daigasso! Band Brothers DS
Daigasso Band Brothers, the music game that never made it to the States [at least not yet]. What a great game this is....
This is a music / rhythm game that plays a lot like DDR or Donkey Konga. You have to press one of the DSs ten buttons at a given time and for a given length of time. Notes scroll from right to left and bottom to top, and you have to keep changing the button you press depending on the song. The game has more than 30 songs available, each with many different instruments with different difficulty settings. You get J-pop, classical music, popular Japanese TV songs, and even some nice game remixes like Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda.
The game also features single and multi-card multiplayer modes, but unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I do know though, that using a single DS card you can play with up to seven of your friends!
You can also make your own songs using Pro Edit Mode, but you need to know how music sheet works in order to do it well.
The game lasts a LONG time, with many songs, instruments, and Pro mode, which uses the L and R buttons to change pitch and makes the game even harder.
But nothing is perfect. The graphics are a bit on the simple side, and some might find the lack of lyrics a bit dissappointing. However, the MIDIs themselves are fantastic.
This game is highly recommendable for any DS user. You will have to import, for about $45, but it's really worth it, especially if you like music games like Ouendan. There is also an expansion pack available for about $40 that gives you about 30 more songs to play!
If you're interested, love music games, or if you are a DS user looking for a good import, look no further; come join the Band, Brother!
