Not as bad as people make it out to be

User Rating: 6 | Crystal Defenders X360
For those who complain that this tower defense game has no story, no reward for playing it, no graphics, etc; get over yourself. Since when has any game in this genre had a story, killer graphics or the like?

Monsters are after your crystal horde. Use familiar faces from the Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced games to stop the monsters from making it to the end.

Gameplay 6- Depending on the situation Crystal Defenders can be fun, or downright upsetting. The AI for your characters, erm, towers isnt the greatest and because they only target the first enemy in line within their range, you can have almost every monster making it past your wall of people with little HP left. However this depends on the type of monster wave more than anything.

This game also has a steeper difficulty curve than most games of this type do. Wave 1 starts out exceedingly easy but it quickly ramps up. I havent seen a map yet that was massively cheap. If monsters are making it past you, aside from the occasion mentioned before, you are probably doing something wrong with your strategy.

Graphics 7- Rip the graphics and sprites from FFTA games, and HD-enable them. Thats what you get.

Sound 6- Same battle musics from FFTA that sound a bit more orchestrated, good think you can turn the audio off because after several minutes of the same thing it gets to be grating on the ears.

Fun Factor 7- A guilty pleasure. It's oddly fun and addicting. for those that complain there are no rewards; leaderboards, achievements, and bragging to friends how far you have got are the rewards.

Replay Value 5- Unless trying to rise on the leaderboards is your goal, Crystal Defenders can get stale pretty quick after playing it for more than an hour or two in one sitting.

My final score- 31/50
