Is It the suit that makes the man or The man that makes the suit?

User Rating: 7 | Crysis 3 PS3

Maybe its a little bit of both. For a long while I was sick of sci-fi first person shooters. Even if you get some cool tricks to make it seem like you are playing a whole new game, It's still a FPS that is in the cold shadow of other FPS's That came before it. But. Crysis 3. helped to change how I look at FPS's. But… Not By a lot. Since Halo 4 and Gears 3, I've been kinda Tapped out on FPS's. First Impressions? The game is beautiful! No matter what system you choose, you shall be impressed. However, I'm Partial to the P.C version more. But, get ready to buy a beefy system if, you go that route.

Honestly? Crytech has gone all out with the level of detail. Sometimes, I felt like I was playing Halo: combat evolved from, back in the day. Mixing it up with the jungles and Urban settings is great touch. Good looks alone do not a great game make. Lucky for Crysis 3, It has game play to back it up. However, I will admit it isn't as great as the last 2 were. But, don't let that stop you from playing. The Thrills and chill might be on the weaker side, but it is still fun to play. I hate the fact that it is shorter. I like getting my money's worth. considering it is retail 59.99 and the third in the series? Hell yes they should have made it longer! But That's just me… The Story was more about prophet and two other people, making it more personal.

That's not a bad thing. It game you more to look forward to if, the decide to make a crysis 4. (And you know they will…) A big part of the fun factor in this game is the bow. To tell you that it makes you unstoppable, is an understatement. You can even use it when you are cloaked! Thus, making the game easy thus, making the game shorter. Honestly, you can beat the game in 6 hours using just the bow and the cloak feature on your suit. No, Really! The Bow can zoom in closer, has changeable heads that can shock foes, blow them up and more. Plus, you can Hack the enemy Turrets making you a one mane army. the alien weapons are awesome but, you will find yourself going back to the bow more than any other weapon. Sounds awesome but, makes the game a cake walk for veteran players even on higher difficulty settings. Most of the time you will be moving from one area to the next taking out bad guys on the way, with little to no trouble. The Boss battles pale in comparison to the ones in the last games. And that bothered me a little. I was expecting something epic! When business does heat up in the Action department, It is a lot of fun. The nano suit like in the last games, still encourages experimentation. I for one, am glad they didn't take that away. and the large levels are a welcomed plus. The Multiplayer is improved, with a tweaked version of King of the hill and, Hunter mode. In hunter mode, you take out cell soldiers, turn them to your side and stay alive until the clock runs out.The Typhoon is the best weapon. but, it gets boring... the bow is kind of garbage in multiplayer because, everyone knows how to beat it... Crysis 3 is a great visit but, you will stay for the multiplayer. I only hope if this franchise continues, they give us more to look forward to than, just a fresh coat of paint and a new weapon for 59.99. To the ones that played Crysis 1 or 2, you won't find much new... but those who are new, will get some enjoyment out of it.
