There are other ways to cure insomnia than allowing a crazy scientist to manipulate and play with your brain. In this funny and twisted game, you will help Danny to find out what's wrong with him by guiding him to the exit of various surreal and soon-to-become-tricky levels.
The concept of swapping from the second to the third dimension (and vice versa) to find your way out is easy to grasp and really good. A camera rotation allows you to see levels from different angles.
Swapping dimensions is possible and will work in those 5 differents angles as long as Danny is correctly placed within the world. All these possibilities really give you the sensation of being in control but can also, in the biggest levels of the game, be sort of overwhelming, and You will at some point find yourself swapping Dimensions (crushing) randomly even though you knew that it won't do.
But no worries, after all this is a puzzle game and puzzle games have to be puzzling, so to tell. You will soon calm down and realize that using your head instead of "crushing" around is the only solution. This will give you a nice feeling of achievement when reaching the exit! Graphically, i haven't really much to say except that more than only 3 environments themes(city, beach, and fair) would have been expected and welcome.
But all in all Kuju Entertainment Limited have done a good job.Danny does look and move like someone who hasn't slept well for ages, and the landscapes look surreal as dreams and nightmares should.
The difficulty is right for a puzzle game. Hard enough for sure.I had my share of stuck situations throughout the game, and it is ,i think, not a bad thing. It gives the player more satisfaction when achieving a level and also
gives the game a longer life. There is also the possibility to play another game mode where you are asked to complete each level within a given time....good luck..eheh.
I give it a 8 out of 10 because of the few imperfections mentioned above but mostly for another particular and personal reason.Maybe some of you will share the same opinion when i say that it's not the kind of game you play
everyday like crazy. I see it more like a sunday evening game that does a good job in making you forget for one or two hours that the next day is the beginning of another working week. In short, it doesn't have the same addictive effect on me that other games might have, but it is still a very important piece of my collection..yes, it fits perfectly in it and would probably in many others like yours. An exclusive and well worthy title on Psp, don't miss it.
